Paul Pitts

Paul Herbert Pitts is a new resident from St. Louis, MO. He holds as Bachelors of Arts in Music Performance and Education and a minor in Theater in Dance from SIUE (Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville). He is currently finishing his masters degree this fall in Secondary Fine Arts Education. Paul Herbert was a middle school and high school teacher for twelve years teaching music and theater education in the state of Illinois and Missouri. Here he directed many plays, musicals and choral concerts. Some of his most memorable musicals that he directed in the educational field with his students included The Wiz, CATS, Starmites, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat, Annie, Seussical the Musical, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Hairspray, and Godspell to name a few.

In 2019 he received the Community Arts Educator award from the 100 Black Men of Alton, IL.

He as well has been involved in many theater productions in the professional theater world in St. Louis and as well directed many productions for his own youth theater in the St. Louis/Illinois Metro East area. Some shows included: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, Into the Woods, Xanadu, Les Miserable, and Pippin to name a few.
