Dance classes will focus on learning proper dance techniques used specifically in the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. It will include jazz movement, tap, proper warm-ups, stretches, across the floor progressions and combinations that will result in a dance performance at the end of each semester. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. It will enhance talent, rhythm, and coordination helping them learn the skills needed for performances.

Karlee Ferreira has been immersed in the world of theatre and dance from a young age, growing up as a competitive dancer and participating in community theatre. Her passion for theatre has been a driving force in her life since she was little, leading her to an illustrious career in the performing arts. Karlee’s professional experience includes notable roles and performances on Broadway and National Tours. She has served as Dance Captain, Swing, and Understudy for Peggy/Maria for various productions of Hamilton, including the Chicago, Los Angeles (Eliza Tour), and Angelica Tour. Additionally, she was cast in the Broadway production of In the Heights as a Vacation Swing and performed across the country as a Swing in the First National Tour of Aladdin.

Dance classes are designed to give the aspiring musical theatre performer an understanding of the fundamentals of dance technique. Students will grow in practical skill such as strength, flexibility, foot work, performance and more.
