AUDITIONS
Auditions will take place at YIT’s studio. You may choose to audition on Friday, April 18 from 7pm-9:30pm or on Saturday, April 19 from 1pm-3:30pm.
During the audition you will have the opportunity to sing a 32-bar or 60 second cut of a song of your choice that shows off your best performance skills. You will also have the opportunity to learn a dance combination from our choreographer, Karlee Ferreira. After everyone has had the opportunity to sing and dance, actors will be asked to cold read with show material.
Everyone should plan to stay for the full time; however, you may be dismissed early if the directing staff is confident they have what they need.
During your audition, make an impression on the directing staff by showing off your best self while having fun!
This cast will be limited to 12 participants – six for cast A and six for cast B. If you are cast, you will receive an email notice with a private invitation to enroll to participate in the production with additional information. The participation fee is $200 per person.
MORE ABOUT THE SHOW
SIX: TEEN EDITION is a full-length adaptation of Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ international phenomenon SIX, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.
Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.
The New York Times says SIX is “pure entertainment!” and the Evening Standard hails SIX as “the most uplifting new British musical I have ever had the privilege to watch.”
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
CATHERINE OF ARAGON – A real strong monarch. Commanding, sure of herself, bold. She lights up the room. (Range: Ab3-Eb5)
ANNE BOLEYN – Fun-loving, always up for a laugh. Never takes anything too seriously, but at the same time lives for the drama. Some have described her as a “chaos goblin.” (Range: C4-E5)
JANE SEYMOUR – Kind and sincere. Loves a dad joke, but no one is ever impressed with Jane’s attempts at comedy. (Range: A3-D5)
ANNA OF CLEVES – Savvy, loves her life, won history and no one even knows it. Cleves is here for a good time. (Range: G3-B4)
KATHERINE HOWARD – Super smart with a wicked sense of humor – but she is SO much more than that. (Range: A3-F#5)
CATHERINE PARR – Grounded, thoughtful and warm. Loves the other queens. A champion of female empowerment. (Range: A3-E5)
